go 570. Plus if u add one down the road for sli, the scaling will be better.

Go for the GTX570. Nvidia made it to replace the GTX480 so it makes sense that it would be faster. also, the 570 is better for futureproofing your rig.

i vote for the 570 also... better scaling with sli, and single card wise... it's faster than the 480 in most if not all current games

plus it's a bagillion times cooler, and takes less juice to run than the 480

If you don't want to worry about your card dieing on you due weak VRM's then get GTX480..

It's a great card man,and no matter what people say it's faster clock per clock than GTX570..

Here's a SS of Crysis 2 bench and max temp was 85C on my reference and stock cooled Zotac GTX480 @ 850/1025MHz..

CHEERS..

GTX 480 b/c of more memory and better cooler
post #7 of 22
GTX480 because it's vrm isn't poorly/cheaply made like the 570. You can also buy them used much cheaper than a 570.

get 570GTX palit sonic editon or 570 gainward Phantom (if you can find them) . These cards have upgraded VRM circuity, and overclock like champ . I own the phantom 570 and the custom cooler is just great, and ultra silent. besides it overclocks to 860/2100 on stock voltage which matches the performance of a 580 or slightly stronger.

onnly problem is that the cooler is huge on phantom , and takes 3 slots ^_^".
-------------------------------
If you can't find a 570 with custom PCB, then go get a 480GTX . reference 570's weak VRM could become a problem later.
