Stuck at 235!

Thread Starter
SO i have been trying for hours on end to push past 235 core clock, but to no avail... i have tried increasing voltage lowering HT, but i think the cause is in the ram! so i klnow everytime i up the core clock i also up the RAM but i have no idea how to lower the ram! how can i lower the RAM to help keep stability? i am running an AMD phenom II 920 @ 3.3Ghz right now but would like to get to 3.6Ghz i have proper cooling and PSU.. but for some reason i am stuck at this junction! so northbridge is at 2115.1 MHz is that ok? ram which is supposed to be ddr2-800 is operating at 391.7 Mhz? is that okay? how do i lower it? and HT i have down to 1800Mhz! HELP!! THANKS ))

You have to lower the Dram Frequency by lowering it's multiplier, try to keep it as close to 800MHz as possible.

The NB Freq will give more performance the higher it is, best at 2600-2800MHz, to help stabilize it you'd increase the CPU/NB (VDDNB) voltage.

HT Link Speed should be at 2000MHz +/- 100mhZ.

It would help if you'd list your system specs by going to User Control Panel and fill it out completely. With this info we could give more precise answers to your questions.

5GB DDR2?
In what combination? It appears to definitely not be a proper dual channel set up. Not that single channel is holding your OC back, but the mix of different RAM kits of different sizes & possibly speed definitely could be.

They are the same speeds but I think they R different brands, and ya I have 3 sticks total! Could thy be why I'm stuk?

You need to:

1) For now, lower your RAM multi to as close to 800MHz as possible, because the FSB at 235 will change the RAM frequency.

2) In the future, get a set of RAM sticks that actually matches, or take out the odd one.
