So when I enter the playstation network on the PS3, I can see that I can download 2 psp games.

How do I play these on my PSP? My psp only has 1 gb data stick.

Download the games from PSN onto your PS3, they'll show up in the Game section on the XMB. You can transfer the games directly onto the PSP via the USB charge cord for one of the controllers, or if you have an older generation PS3 with memory card slots, just insert the MS Pro Duo card and move the file onto it. Alternatively, you can download Sony's Media Go program onto a PC, connect your PSP and download the games that way.
