Low FPS in all games - Page 3

I dont know why you are so surprised. Before you were running at 1680 x 1050, and now you are at 1920 x 1080. you are gonna see an FPS drop.

What details are those games being run at? I assume you have tried turning off stuff like AA etc?

Something is definitely wrong.

Well that's with a game. With prime it jumps from 60C idle to 84C load.

The impact between those two resolutions is not huge, he should not be experiencing such an impact. To me it seems like something to do with the graphics card, try another set of drivers.

That could be a problem. Could you take a digital picture of the inside of your case and post it so we can see the cable management? Might be nothing, but it would help.

Run 3DMark11 and see if your scores compare to similar systems or not.

Nope everything runs at maximum detail, all things except for Vsync turned on. Only change from my old system was a Resolution change when I got the monitor. It's just that it dropped so low not that it dropped. I mean really, I don't get more then 20FPS on the Campaign map of NTW and Shogun 2. If that's what the 5850 has in terms of performance then it's a ****ty ass card, which is far from the case. I can handle 45FPS as is standard for the card at this resolution.

Also the 3d Mark scores do compare Blitzer.

And I unfortunately cannot Lizard, I do not have a working camera atm. What's this possible issue?

The possible issue is your ATX case may be hot enough to boil a monkey's bum. It could be trapping in hot air for any number of reasons. You have high heat, things start to throttle down.

Heat will also make short work of that PSU.

Ah, no I don't believe that's the case. I have a HAF 922 with 8 120mm Yate Loons High Speeds in it, when I open it it doesn't blow a blast of really hot air in my face.

I'll bet you're overheating your CPU and it is throttling. Idling at roughly 55c is horrible....

Depending on the configuration of the fans, high powered fans can actually generate and sustain heat rather than pull it in and send it out.

One of the biggest mistakes people often make is having a lot of exhaust and little or no intake, which actually sustains high temperatures.

That case should have good intake and exhaust though, unless there are a mess of cables everywhere.

I don't trust that PSU either.
