The cooler needs to be pointed the other way.
With the cooler facing down,it is pulling hot air from the graphics card.

Rotate the cooler,
Reapply the thermal paste between the heatpipes. it will spread better and will result in better temps
a small line will do. not too much as well

i havent been able to get my 1090t above 4.0 so all i did was drop it down to only 2 cores and its at 4.1 now works fine playing dirt 3 and cod black ops with no probs theres no point in really over clocking with all the cores active theres nothing out there that requires that much the highest i got with all six cores was 3.8 and running stable

I've just finish reseating the cooler with the arctic silver 5 at 1 grain of rice. now my idle seems to go up 3c . usaually at 36 now around 39. Is it because the AS5 need time to set in?

Use this method for HDT coolers such as the 212+.

I didnt read through every post, i stopped when you said you had a Hyper 212+. To be honest a CM Hyper 212 doesnt work well with temps on the Hex core. I know this from experience. They are very nice on quad cores and under but Hex core over 1.4v will be very tough to get stable, and I had delta fans.

AS5 cure in time will not net you a 3 degree drop.

Get rid of that video card...all its doing is blocking airflow, and heating up your case...seriously if you have some change laying around pick up a GTS 450 small card and better than the 8800.

My card alone (8800GTX) used to get to 90C and heat up my case.

Then I picked up 3 GTS 450s and my temps don't pass 60C for GPUs..actually the middle card gets up to 57C now that I have the San Ace pointing right at them from the side panel.. and my CPU stays nice and cool. Well I also am water cooled which was my second suggestion for you. I'm sure you're not looking that route though.

And get better paste seriously..I used AS5 with the h70 and my temps went up 5C from the stock pad that was on there...Now I use MX3 everywhere..Shin Etsu..MX3/4 anything but AS5.

I don't think that is the problem, because there are to many people here that has a 212+ cooling a Hex core.

Yeah, My GF has a 8800GTS 512 that idles at 50c and loads very hot! As far as TIM goes there is maybe a 1-2c difference in the top ones. Its more about how they are applied. But if you are sucking in hot air from that video card, gonna be hard to cool that heatsink.

No way, not 4.0ghz and higher. Flat bottom types like Megahalems, TRUE, and such work way better. Im sure there are folks using 212's, but over 4.0ghz they have to be pushing temps.
