Windows 7 64bit - "The task image is corrupt or has been tampered with"

I decided to take a peek at my task scheduler and received this message. Apparently there's 16 tasks that are corrupt? I had to hit OK 16 times as windows spits out what tasks it can't read but seems to be like registry keys.

Any ideas? I checked my HD for errors, found nothing. I don't want to resort to a system restore unless I have to. I dont know exactly how far back I would have to go.

Maybe try some third party software like "Autoruns"/run as admin & go to the "Scheduled Tasks" Tab, but first i would go to the options tab & tick "Hide Microsoft & Windows Entries" or you can leave that option a just have a look first?

I'll have to take a look at it. I just don't want to delete any widows related tasks. Would that program give me descriptions of what these tasks are?

Hi, yes it will & you dont need to install it, just run it.
i hope it helps.

But the link that Djmatrix32 gave has seemed to help others,
so there should be no harm done.
although i have never had this prob so i can't tell you for sure?

I ran Autoruns as admin and none of these task "strings" came up under the scheduled tasks section. So I presume these would be safe to delete.

UPDATE

I decided to make a back up of the registry and went ahead and deleted these entries from the task folder and registry. So for no issues and all the error messages are no longer showing up. Very strange.. I havent seen this problem before. Well see if I run into any issues later

also tick the verify entries option as well.

Windows disk in the tray then
SFC /purgecache

Then

SFC /scannow
