Going back to watercooling, maybe...

Thread Starter
Hi guys, I have a few questions on my setup below. Can I run this proc-vc loop on a 240 radiator? and for now, on stock?

Currently that's what my budget permits me but in any case I get a few off then I can add another 120 or maybe 140. All I want to know is if the 240 rad can hold it off on stock for now.

Thanks a lot guys!

Both CPU and GTX 580? Possibly on stock but not much room if you're planning on really overclocking both CPU and GPU. You can get the RX240 to be safe Get good fans, high static pressure ones

Thanks a lot for the reply bl1tzk1213g. Yes, both processor and GTX 580. It's ok if I run it on stock for now since it really can handle everything I want to run on it.

Also, I think I can fit in 1x 280 rad and 1x 140, can that give me a headroom for OC'ing in the future? I understand that it won't be sufficient for a high OC, a moderate OC will be fine by me.

If you are staying stock. Just stay on air until you save up enough for a loop with a 360 rad.

Would love to stay on air for now but the temps on my 580 is killing me, when gaming, proc stays below 40 but the gpu climbs up to 70-80 even if the case is already open and even though I placed a fan blowing into the 580 directly

If you're really concerned with the heat maybe try running just the 580s on your RAD and leave your CPU on air for now since you're CPU's heat is not an issue

Hmm sounds like a plan. Well maybe I can just use my trusty ol' H50 for the processor. Nice idea. I really never thought about that.

What he said. Although I would like to know what kind of fan profile you have on your 580 that you're hitting 80s with it. I'm using a fan profile under Afterburner that correlates each degree to one percent fan speed. Never topped 70 degrees yet in any games with an 850/1700/2100 OC.

And if you ever want to pump the OC on the i5 you could always just get the new H80 when it comes out.
