GTX 460; Which One?

Thread Starter
I know this question has probably been asked to death in a million different forums, but I'd like to have a current opinion from this particular group of computer lubbers.

I'm planning on getting a single nVidia GeForce GTX-460; I'm also probably going for the 1GB version.

Of all the brands of GTX 460s there are available, which would you recommend? I'd like it if the posts included some reasoning to it as well - but that's asking a lot from the internet, I know.

Thanks for entertaining me~

I had the Gigabyte ones and had to RMA 2 so due to personal experience would not recommend them. Also I would avoid ones with mini HDMI as they are barley capable of supporting the weight of the cable(first RMA). I do now have a gigabyte 560ti with mini HDMI as it was all they would exchange for and so far so good but I still would rather have a different model. Also the 560 they sent me ha the fan plugged in the wrong way around and took me ages to figure why it was not spinning properly.

MSI N460GTX Hawk Talon Attack GeForce GTX 460

The Hawks are awesome. I'd highly suggest Hawks for higher over clocks and running cooler when it comes to the GTX 460. Also the components are military grade solid state capacitance. You can read the full spec here on MSI's website.

Comes 810Mhz Core clock and can get to 1Ghz over clock, which is huge. SLI it down the road and you'll have some great FPS not to mention pricing has been going down on them.

Since the card first released drivers have improved by far and matured nicely on the card. Any of the older reviews don't show accurate benches any longer. So posting them to show you comparison would be incorrect. You'll love the performance out of it.

After your purchase join the Official NVIDIA GTX400 Series Owners Thread started April 13, 2010 for even more insight and questions you might have.

Mmm, it seems like the MSI Hawk is the way to go for an optimal GTX 460, isn't it?

One last question; is there any reason the two links given above for the Hawk are prices differently - peculiarly enough, the one with lower clock speeds is priced higher...
