While I did and still do play the MP of BC2, I thoroughly enjoyed the SP as you. I thought it was quite good myself. Most people probably grew up on MP games so they tend to prefer that over SP. I'm an old timer and enjoy SP more, but still partake in MP from time to time. I played through BC2 SP no less than 4 times and will probably do it again at one point. Black Ops on the other hand, I beat once and never opened it again, for SP or MP. I didn't even like the SP, but I was determined to play through to at least get some of my monies worth.
These time frames for finishing games are completely subjective as well. It depends on the person. I am one that will take my time, enjoy every little detail and trying to find and get all the secrets while enjoying the world itself. I think most just fly through them as fast as possible, just to say they played through. Not really trying to immerse themselves in the game at all. All about the run and gun I suppose.
I am in the process of playing through Red Faction Armageddon atm. I am a little over 50% through and have over 11 hours played already. I am really having some fun with this game. It is way more closed world and linear than Guerrilla, but still worlds of fun and lots to do and play around with. The destruction(I've used nothing but the magnetic gun for 90% of the game) alone probably accounts for half my game play time. I tend to destroy everything in each area, whether it needs it or not. Anyway, guess I'm trying to say each person is different and will enjoy different things and play styles. Especially older gamers compared to the younger. I think we have more patience and tend to explore and take our time, whereas the young'uns want instant gratification of MP style run and gun, kill, kill, kill.
If BF3 has a 6-10 hour campaign, that will probably be more like 15-20 for me, the way I play. So I would be pleased.
