Would there be any drawbacks to RAID 0 with OCZ Vertex/Agility3 Drives?

Revodrive 3 x2 would be a better option, since it supports trim.
I'm currently waiting for the revodrives to become available, and keeping an eye on sandforce 2 reliability...

This would be offset by the drives' own native garbage collection, but I don't know how the native garbage collection stacks up against TRIM.

I have 3 SSDs in RAID 0, I've had the array for about 6 months now. It is definitely not as snappy as when it had a fresh W7 x64 install on it, but I'm guessing a single SSD with TRIM would also lose some of that new-Windows-install snap after 6 months as well. But that's just speculation.

There has been a little drop in performance. For instance, when I open my Quicklaunch (about 50 items), there is a little lag now, when before it opened almost instantly. Don't get me wrong, it is still really fast.

I don't know if it's lack of TRIM or just 6 months of use that is causing the slowdowns. Don't get me wrong, the SSD array is still way way faster than my old setup, which was 1x Velociraptor and 3x Raptors in RAID 0.

I ran some benches to show you how performance has changed. Take a look. The old AS SSD bench was taken when the array was still pretty new. The old CrystalDiskMark bench was taken a few months back. And the NEW benches were taken today, each after a reboot.

I've also attached a picture of my write-caching settings.

All of this was done with Intel Rapid Storage Technology 10.

Here's a summary of the results made in Excel for both benchmarks.

Red shows performance decreases. Green shows performance increases.

The old AS SSD bench was with RST 9.6. I think that's why write performance is way up on the new bench (RST 10.1.0.1008).

AS SSD does not play nice with SandForce controller drives, so I would trust the CrystalDiskMark bench more.

After using TRIM on an SSD, performance is virtually the same as when it's brand new. So from that standpoint it seems that the native garbage collection isn't working as well as TRIM.

I suppose I could take my SSDs and pop them on another Windows machine and TRIM them, but that's kind of a pain in the butt.

Hope this helps.
