This happened to my brother, and it turned out to the the motherboard. That doesn't mean it is in your case though, for example, are all your motherboard's heatsinks properly seated? That includes the Northbridge, South Bridge, MOSFETs? It could also be a problem with how your CPU is seated, take it out, clean the pins, and reseat. Another thing I can think of off the top of my head is to run Memtest x86 on the RAM overnight and see if it fails. Speaking of RAM, are the sticks getting enough volts, most RAM runs at 1.65V, but some can still run at 1.7-2 volts.

As you see there are a lot of different things that could cause these symptoms, so try the things I mentioned then report back what worked.

Nope, Iv'e never lost any data when Iv'e updated my firmware on my SSD

im on firmware 2.6 anyways and i read other places that thats the latest firmware so ill wait a while and keep checking to see if theres any details on new firmware as ive read on other places that this kinda thing is happening to others and it is a firmware problem affecting the vertex 3 and agility 3 drives, i installed windows on ide but was reading achi is better i get a windows rating of 7.7 with the current setup can you tell me would the other way of installing it make the drive quicker as ive done ssd benchmark and getting no were near the speeds it says for my drive
