Do you see the card identified as "MSI 580 Lightning CBB FIX" in afterburner? If so you have hit the BIOS selector switch on the top of the card. You can check and see what position it's in, it will have an outline over the position it should be in.

You currently have the gpu bios set on the LN2 setting. If you arent subzero temps on your gpu then make sure the bios switch is set to original.

Ok well now that with my help you've identified that you have that switch in the wrong position do you have any guess as to what you need to do next?

Flip the switch into the correct position, the one that has the outline around it as I mentioned.

My bios switch is in the "original" position and it is running at 772 mhz. Afterburner detects the card as N580GTX Lightning [CBB FIX].

When i switch the bios switch to LN2 position, the card runs at 832 mhz.

Is it advisable to run it in the LN2 position without liquid nitrogen cooling? Any idea why i am not getting 832 mhz factory overclock with the bios switch in Original position?

The only possibility that I can think of that isn't a misflashed card from the factory is that you could possibly be mistaking the two positions. If you are sure that it says CBB FIX and is at 772 in the original position and say 832 and no CBB FIX in the LN@ position and not the other way around (double check it to be sure), then it sounds like that's a problem from the factory. Hopefully the only problem is just that the positions are reversed but the correct BIOS's are there but just in the opposite positions but I don't know if I would want to assume that. What I would do, after you confirm they are opposite what they should be, is contact MSI and get them to send you a stock Lightning BIOS for you to flash the original position (that appears to have the LN2 BIOS on it now) with so that you will have the original position BIOS be a known good BIOS. Then I would just leave it at that if you don't ever plan to need the LN2 BIOS, but if you do then you could get from one from MSI and flash it in the correct LN2 position.

Soo, ther are two chances. Either the bios positions are reversed or this is a misflashed card. Alrie... So another thing, does the card run at 772 mhz in the LN2 position? Because i remember reading somewhere that the card is supposed to run at 832 mhz in either positions. I contacted MSI about this and they replied askin me to check if afterburner or any other OC utility is downclocking my card. I sent them a screenshot of afterburner, gpu-z and nvidia inspector which clearly shows both my gpu clock n default gpu clock as 772 mhz. I have not got any reply as of yet. And sorry to bother you, i did not understand what you said about asking me to get a lightning stock bios from msi (a little easily for the newbie plz)
