Dualboot Question

Thread Starter
Hello all,
I must Dualboot XP Pro x64 with 7 Pro x64. Emphasis on must.
Which is the best way to do it:
1. Install XP over 7 and then use EasyBCD (separate HDDs)
2. Disconnect 7 HDD and install XP on different HDD: Use bios to boot into OS.

Comments?
What is the worst case scenario? Risks?

Thanks in advance.

why dont you use vmware or virtiual box much safer. if not then just partition your hdd and put the win xp disk in then just select that partition to install to but no.2 would be best as you wont lose your work

Or you could use the XP virtualization builtin to Win 7 Pro and Ultimate which is free. No I'm not talking about XP compatibility mode.

Only works if you CPU supports virtualization, have the ram capable of running it smoothly and have a W7 Pro or Ultimate. Most have home.

I would install W7 last. I managed to get it setup without too many issues.

Some performance will be lost but not much with a system like that. What reason do you need to run the 64bit XP install?

All I'm doing is comparing W7 to XP as a benchmark curiosity. I hope XP mode is useful for this
