AM3+ (Bulldozer) Micro ATX Motherboard

Thread Starter
i need some help guys.
i am in the process of building/modding a CM Scout case (see "Not a HTPC" in sig) and with the plans i have for the PSU/HDDs/SSD cover, i will only be able to fit a micro atx motherboard in the case.
i would like a top of the line MB, so i can push whichever cpu i get.
i notice the 990fx atx boards are coming out, but haven't seen anything on a micro atx.
has anyone heard of them yet?
does anyone know if they plan on making a micro 9xx MB?
i would prefer a new 9xx MB to go with BD, instead of a 8xx MB.
any insight would be grateful.

I have not heard of any mATX Bulldozer boards yet, but I'm sure they will be out over the next couple months. I think in the grand scheme of things, mATX boards are usually purchased by the population looking for something cheap (even if that's the case with EVERYONE). Given that, it would make sense that we wouldn't see mATX boards until we actually see the release of Bulldozer or it's been on the market for a bit.

So far there's no AM3+ boards with the new 9xx chipsets, but considering the 9xx chipsets are identical to the 8xx, you wouldn't really notice much change.

I'm leary about any high end boards for mATX coming out, since there's never really been mATX AMD love. The Biostar TA890GXE was great, so hopefully Biostar re-releases it with AM3+ soon.

Other than that, all the mATX love goes to Intel.

There was a poll on Asus' forums on whether they should make a Crosshair V Gene or not. I'm not sure what the results were, but I sure hope Asus will be coming out with it...

I'll be so happy if Biostar releases a TA990gxe matx board with an 8 pin cpu power connector. I'd buy it right now if they had it.

I have a lian-li pc-v351 matx case and a 1090T cpu. I am currently using an old matx mobo that cannot be stressed at stock without overheating. I cannot find any matx board which properly supports the 1090T.

I want to over clock the 1090T to 4 ghz. Every matx board has vrm problems. I have researched on line a lot and have not found a solution. I thought they'd be releasing a bunch of new mATX boards with the 9-series boards. Sadly not the case.

Well-a new board and new tech is always nice no douts, but at the moment if cost is a prob, the new 990 chip set over the 890 chip set, wich alot have a bios update for bd, there realy is not much difference from what i have read. Hence the price not being much different at moment.

Here's the Asus Poll

http://www.asusrog.com/forums/showthread.php?1447-The-next-GENE-and-Formula-!

I would also like to see a Crosshair V gene, I always wanted a mATX system to place next to my television.

i think threres alot of us hoping for a great matx this time around. i used the gigabyte 880g for along time and i can't really say anything negative about the board except for cooling design. i'm going to wait it out alittle longer to see what comes out because i love amd. but i'm sad to say that i'll have to go to intel platform if nothing comes out soon.

as of now, it looks like i will get this one, until something better comes out.
i still have to wait until BD comes out before i buy a MB, so i hope something better is just around the corner.

For high power consumption processors you should add VRM cooling, otherwise that mobo looks quite fine. I'm trying to confirm on how good it is at the moment though, I have reports from tator that one of his friends actually blew up one of those motherboards.
