Second GTX460 or a new single card?

Thread Starter
Hey everyone. Around the time that BF3 and Skyrim come out I'm planning on upgrading my video card situation. Right now I have a 1GB GTX460.

Now, I only have a 500w power supply so if I go with SLI GTX460's I'd have to spend like $75 on a new power supply.

Knowing this, should I spend $200 (GTX460 + PSU, maybe cheaper by November) or sell my GTX460 and put that towards a ~$250 single card?

And I'm not doing this until October so it might be even cheaper. Is a single 560 > 2x 460?

I'm actually in pretty much the same boat as OP. I'm having a hard time deciding between getting another GTX 460 768mb or getting a GTX 570 and selling the 460 or using it for Physx. Reason I'm having trouble with deciding is that I think the smaller framebuffer on my 460 is limiting me at 1920x1080, and I'd rather not deal with the problems that come with a multi-card setup like microstutter and whatnot.

Betteroffded`:

At 1080P, the GTX 570 will offer better performance than the 460s because of the VRAM and a GTX 570 can take care of PhysX on its own.

Oh so there's timing/sync problems when dealing with SLI? I've never tried it. If so I might want to just avoid the headache and go with a single card.
