Buy Minecraft for Laptop? - Page 2

Well, I bought it and things seem fine. It's laggy at times, (especially now that it's night time) but it's bearable and I don't think it's always going to be that way.

$22 is still a lot though. Can I play this when I'm not connected to the internet? Just to play some offline single player?

This

I think I have exactly the same specs on my laptop as you. It ran way too slowly for my liking on Windows 7 so I ran it on my Ubuntu partition and it ran much smoother.

If you want the best from minecraft, install Ubuntu (through wubi if you want to remove it easily).

You can play it offline, just press cancel at the beginning and it will ask you.

Minecraft can run on nearly anything. I was able to run it on my netbook; your computer shouldn't have any issues.

Little correction to what people are saying in here.
If you have a laptop with a ATI/AMD card, you will not see the kind of performance you do when you are playing in Windows. ATI/AMD drivers in Linux are bullocks.

Now OP. You shouldn't have a problem in either Windows nor Linux since you have the Intel HD IGP.

Thanks everyone for all the info. I couldn't find this anywhere else.

PM me if you want to play with me! I'm still exploring single player, but I'm sure I'll move to Multiplayer soon enough
