I had no intention of going Intel

Like the thread title says, I really had no intention of going intel. I have used AMD for the past 6 years and they have never failed me. I actually had no intention of building a new rig, but hey, things happen.

The build consists of:

i7-970 from intel for 200$
3GB Corsair ram 3x1 gb for 30$
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R LGA 1366 Intel X58 for 135$
A 500bg WD Blue - 35$
Reused my 470 -Free
650 Watt Xclio PSU - 45$
ECO-Coolit cpu cooler - Free ( From Intel Retail Edge)
Kingston Ram Cooler - Free ( From Intel Retail Edge)
Rosewell Destroyer Case - 39.99 Newegg(still on its way, purchased 2 days ago)

that adds up to 484.99. Not bad for an i7-970 build eh? I might even take 3 2gb's out of my AMD rig and use those in triple channel and put the other ram in it. I am running it without the coolit eco cooler for now because I do nto have the case yet, But I do think the stock cooker for the 970 looks awesome compared to the other stock coolers I have seen. Folding it barely keeps it at 60c in a pretty hot room.

I will post up some more pics of when I get it in a case, I am considering putting the AMD rig in the Destroyer and putting the 970 rig in my CM-690. some pics:

And lastly here is a panorama of the set up right now.

Why not? lol. I am sure I could have gotten an x58 cheaper(actually I know I could have, I saw one on the market for like 90 bucks). But I have always wanted to try a gigabyte board and it looked really pretty.

I started a WU on it last night and went to sleep, then when I woke up I had forgot to tell it to "Never Sleep" so it had shut down and logged off like 30 mins after I had walked away. As of right now it is 16% done with a 6900 project for 8955 points for about 38k ppd. As soon as I get a case and get this thing properly cooled, I am hoping to be folding for alot more than that.
