<inserts some emotional nonchalant comment> yeah, ok, whatever...

A Multi-Billion dollar company like M$ isn't gonna sweat 300 mil, nope...

They do what they do because 9 times out of 10 they get away with it!

Just look at Internet Explorer 9, I see a carbon copy of Chrome...

The sad thing is, ethics have never been at M$ since the beginning...

They will buy out or steal anything that can make the money, end of story...

M$ will sue anyone to make a buck just the same, so I don't feel sorry for them, not even...

It's nice to see that MS wasn't able to throw its weight around for once.

Mr. Vulpe said the law needs to punch patent infringers with penalties greater than what they would have had to pay had they simply licensed the technology in the first place.
Now I see why they ignore licensing and just wait for the lawsuits. They end up spending the same amount and have a chance of not paying anything at all (lawyers are on retainer anyways).

Google sides with Microsoft on this one though and it does look like i4i barely did anything with this "innovation". It's like drug companies that sit on patents that prevent people from doing research on cures for cancer. Who cares if you thought of it first, you didn't produce.

That's the way the world is turning. Could definitely be a better off world with more cures and less sickness, but greed is the name of the game. I do commend the i4i for taking it to Microsoft and winning. I just hope they don't lose it now by infringing on someone else's patents. Read the article. Was a nice read.
