New engine with amazing graphics. Better destruction, audio, phsyics, level of detail and more.

Ya...lets all play COD for their innovations.

The deal about physical warfare is that some people don't necesarily jump to preorder, they like to try it out evaluate the gameplay or wait for deals, and now for all those people the balance will be completely screwed up.

Yeah I hate it when a company spends million and millions developing a game from the ground up only to expect you to pay money for it if you want to play it.
This BF3 boycott is by far the most childish thing to cause a stink over it's actually sad.

As for the poll you should have had a "planning to pre-order" choice since there is still 4+ months left before release that is a legitimate category that I am in.

You can jump off DICE's nutsack any time now, they'll forgive you.

But seriously, you really call a sequel innovative? I don't think I remember any truely innovative sequel. It's a sequel to an established franchise. Nothing innovatve about that.

It will no doubt be a good game, but at the end of the day it's just more of the same, like any other sequel.

So not really innovative.

Innovation stems from the game itself, not its title. I could name quite a few sequels that did things to push heir respective genres forward or simply change things up considerably.

Battlefield 3 doesn't appear to be all that innovative, but not because it's an entry in a series.

LOl what does it take to please some of you? They are re-defining yet again what destruction is, they are not just making it so people can lose their cover they are making objects of seemingly random shape and sizes able to break off buildings and kill you via gravity. Calculating size, shape, mass, trajectory and assigning a damage value.

The sounds are not just pre-recorded sounds they are actually interacting with the ever changing environment around you.

A first person shooter hasn't been this innovative in a long time which is why their efforts should be acknowledged.

Look at the trailers they have released so far 95% of it is game play videos there is still 4 months before release and they are confident enough to let game play videos out and not just clips they are chuncks that show you game flow, combat and multi-player. If you can't tell by now what this game is going to be like you haven't been gaming very long if at all and it's probably not the game for you anyway and you'd be better of with home front or bullet storm.

And what's with the bit about Homefront and Bulletstorm? I couldn't care less about either, but it's odd that you felt the need to attack/question my gaming habits.

Calm down.

1. something new or different introduced: numerous innovations in the high-school curriculum.
2. the act of innovating; introduction of new things or methods.
the graphics engine, the animation system, the sound engine, the gunplay. + all kinds of things we dont know about yet.

This will be the first battlefield game with destructable lights, which allows you to tactically take them out and change the battle conditions. Which will come in handy for the engineer because he has a flashlight.

All classes can now suppress enemies by firing at them, while they are behind cover, this will cause a blurring on their screen, making it harder for the enemy to return fire.

Destructable environment is much more diverse than previous games, and the falling rubble can now kill players. The destruction also takes place at an even higher scale of micro destruction, allowing players to chip away corners from objects, possibly uncovering the enemy.

They have also stated that their ballistics model is getting an update which will change how we play, different weapons will have different penetration depths, bullet drop etc.

The maps in this game are larger than any battlefield game before it.

They have recorded over 300 versions of the man down line for online play. Thats just for 1 line, they are going to have more lines of dialogue in multiplayer alone, than some games have entirely.

Vehicles rather than just being destroyed, can now be disabled, requiring an engineer to get them running again.

yeah, no innovation at all. The best thing is, we still dont have all the details, im sure some other crazy stuff is coming also.

Because nothing like this has been done in other games before, lol.

Animation engine, taken from FIFA.

Shooting out lights? Oh please, I think Splinter Cell had that covered.

Destructive enviroments. Red Faction, previous Battlefield games. Omg I can die by a bit of scenery! Wowzers! Chipping away at cover, Full Spectrum Warrior (among others).

Weapon ballistics, have you played a proper war simulation before? This has been done a few times before.

Larger maps... innovative? Really?

All DICE are doing is bringing a load of stuff together, mostly done before in other games, under one game. That's not really innovative, they're just taking stuff others have done before and fitting it into their own game.

But don't get upset, I never said the game would be terrible or anything, I just dont think its innovative. I just think it's the 8th Battlefield game in the franchise.

Yeah, thats nothing to really care about. Considering its all been done before apparently. Why hasnt 1 game done all that before? Ill not argue the point with you though, i made mine, and it was pretty clear.
