Thanks for the heads up! They're probably phasing them out slowly. The G73 I bought was $100 MORE a week after I bought it. Weird.

EDIT: So i just looked at the new Asus they put up. Seems like they redisgned the heatsink and such, but there isn't much difference. You still get 8GB of RAM, you get 250GB more HD space, and a GTX 560m which is a tad better than the 460m.

Is it really a big diffrence ? cause if so i am gonna go with the compusa version and return the BB version. i was gonna shell out 200.00 for the BB 1yr warranty but with that extra 200. i can get the compusa version with the better manuf. warranty already. any thoughts?
You won't be disappointed. You'll also get a 1920 x 1080 screen and Blu-Ray player. Do it.

As far as the Witcher 2 goes, it is one of the most demanding games on the market atm, and the 460m is last gen, by a landslide lol.

Hell, its a good price at $1300 for a 17" gaming laptop.

just read a review on the G74sx not much of a performace boost than the g73sw. I benchmarked my g73SW (bestbuy version) with resident evil 5 benchmark and @1600x900 with all settings up on both benchmarks i got around 56-60fps. the review on the g74sx got only 39-46fps on 1920x1080. Ill just keep my BB version just a bummer that witcher 2 is so demanding i have it tweaked to run @ around 30FPS
thanks for the reply guys you know your stuff

Tweak the startup time by going into start>run> type msconfig and hit enter, then go to the "Boot" tab, click advanced options, and change the number of procecssors to 8

also, if you're unhappy with the LCD color quality (such as myself) right click on the desktop, click Nvidia control panel, on the left hand side there is a "Display" menu, then go to "Adjust desktop color settings. On the bottom there is a slider for "Digital Vibrance" adjust that to your liking. It "artificially" boosts the colors very well.

Since we're talking about laptops, yes it is good for something that you can carry in a backpack (a rather large one lol).

as far as the icon thing goes, i don't think its anything to worry about. Mine do that sometimes as well.
