Are you confusing these for the 570 where what you said would be true, I wouldn't want to go above 1.1v on reference 570 VRMs, or do you really think a 13mV overvolt will kill his card?

That guy I really don't think that's a concern with only 1.12500v, I wouldn't even worry about 1.1500v on the stock cooler. Any more than that and you may be right but I presonally don't see the alarm in such minor overvolts. Nice GPU, CPU, Mobo, Case, RAM, and PSU by the way. LOL pretty similar
I guess I take the side of being cautious. 17% performance gain is fine by me. The OP can go to the Nvidia GeForce 500 Series Owners Club first page and take a look at the 'proof' pages. Can get a good idea on some clocks from that.

I got to 912 core with 1.1000v the OP is stuck at 900 Core with 1.1250v. His card might not be a good over clocker if he's seeing artifacts at 900 Core with 1.1250V. It does go a lot higher. Here are some of the clocks, keep in mind the higher clocks are under water.

There's nothing wrong with being cautious, and I'm certainly not telling him that he needs to overvolt higher but I don't see any reason why he shouldn't stay at the highest stable clocks he can achieve at 1.125v if he is happy with the temps he is getting there.

Wow, seeing as this is my first post (aside form the new member post) thanks for all the replys, clearly a very good community here.

I cranked up the fan to 75% and stress tested ith the evga stress tester and things went fine, then played The Witcher 2 for about an hour and a half and a couple of hours of Shogun 2 and all went well.

I've dropped the Voltage to 1.100 and am going to run evga stress tester again for a while and see how it goes, i'll report back. Core 900, Mem 2054.

I think i am going to go with the water cooling... having a fan up that high is loud.

No problem bud. Hey come over to Nvidia GeForce 500 Series Owners Club, a lot of 580 owners there and you'll get a weath of info from it.

Also welcome to OCN!

The 580 VRM's are fine, it's the 570 that had problems.

well i think the artefact issue may have been heat related as i had it stable at 900/2080 and dropped my voltage to 1.100 and was able to run stable in Ungine (i'd had artefacts in this previously too), 3DMark11 (x2401 so wooohooo, my highest yet!) and an hour on oc scanner with the fan at 75% so i guess it was heat.

However, I haven't had a chance to replay with the witcher 2 again though...

If anything this game could be a good new addition to things to test stability on.

I'll test again tonight (lucnh break at work), and post results and validations on oc and benchmarks...

Personally, I just use unigine to stress test. If it passes that without any artifacts, it is good to go. But best to test with hours worth of demanding games as well.
