I wouldnt recommend an NVIDIA card. If you wish to go eyefinity. I recommend a XFX Radeon HD 5870. It runs 3 screens off of one card.

For three 1080p screens, I would recommend 2GB GTX 560Ti's in SLI. You're definitely going to need the extra VRAM and power if you want to run games smoothly.

Yeah, maybe for 3 screens running Firefox or MS Word.

How well do you think a single 5870 is going to run games at a resolution of 5760x1080?

XFX makes poorly manufactured cards and their customer service comes straight from hell. I cycled through two of their 5850s in three months, both of them failed on me and the RMA process was always a pain in the neck. Perhaps my opinion, but in any case, one GPU can't handle a decent frame rate on any modern game on three monitors @1080p.

I'd recommend either two 2GB 560 Tis in SLI or two 2GB 6950s in crossfire. Both of these two options are cost-effective and will give you respectable performance.

GTX560Ti 2GB SLI, or 6950CF/6970.

You can get away with 1GB of VRAM, but you'll have to spend a lot of time tweaking and cutting corners on settings to keep games playable.

If your monitors have DisplayPort inputs, 6950/6970 is the way to go currently IMO, as AMD have polished EyeFinity a lot more than nVidia have polished Surround (they listen to the triplewide community, although it can take them some time to respond...) And this is coming from an nVidia Surround user.

The important thing to remember is: more VRAM = better triplewide experience. About the only game that doesn't eat VRAM for breakfast in triplewide is Mafia 2.

Get two 560Ti SLI for your 3 monitors. Nvidia surround > eyeinfinity (physx,x32 AA, better Dx11 effects). 460 GTX sli won't stand in these resolutions very good especially in high settings with some AA on.

Now if you can't afford 2 560ti the best option is 1 6970
