Windows is absolutely horrid and Linux is better at everything than Windows. See, I can state my opinion as fact too.

If we're not going by commercial success then wouldn't it just be opinion?

I'm going by how well it was received by users who actually used it.

Windows 8 could sell over 1 billion copies on day 1, doesn't make it good, does it? It means a marketing team somewhere did a good job.

Alot of noobs in this thread, christ -_-... .

It's not going to be the next Vista, it's just moving with the times.

You'll have the option to operate in tablet form (IE, TOUCHSCREEN)

ORRRRRR

Use it normally..

Frankly, I see this more as Windows 7.5... I mean what REAAALLY can they add to make it better...? lol

Yeah DirectX is the only reason to use Windows. Otherwise it belongs in a virtual machine.

For day to day use I'd say OSX is far far better though.

Get rid of the Registry and DLL/OCX non-sense and catch up with the rest of the world on how to run an OS? AKA NIX*

Idk how you would consider it windows 7.5..

Arm support alone, deserves a full # revision, let alone the chance x86/x64 software might not be able to be directly ported and/or emulated.

Hopefully, some other outdated stuff could go too.. an alternative to winsxs, svchost.exe retired hopefully? not sure about the dll/ocx could you enlighten me?

probably remove support for tons of old stuff too, no system32 since Arm will probably be x64 only, new filesystem, and maybe a better os file structure?

I mean unhide folders etc, u see:

C:\\Documents and Settings
C:\\Users

both are for the same stuff basically, but the one cant be accessed.

C:\\Programs Files
C:\\ Program Files (x86)

ugh,

C:\\ProgramData
C:\\Users\\username\\AppData

and of course tons more probably..
