This. A great storyline is always more important to me than running around like a chicken with my head cut off shooting at everything until I die. MP is repetitive and boring...

I enjoy playing with others more than playing with myself.

i Selected Single player, mainly cause there is to many cheaters on Multiplayer games .
Single player for personal exploration time, or when I talk to myself. Multiplayer when I feel like playing with actual human beings. Shockingly, there aren't a lot of smart gamers out there; I'm not dismissing myself

depends on the game. I like single player games that immerse u into the story, but sp games seem to be a bit short, around 7-8hrs. I like MP cause games can turn out different and changing ur tactics for watever reason is really challenging and fun. A good MP game can make u spend hundreds of hours on it while a GOOD sp can only suck u into it for 12hrs or so at the most unless u redo the game. I like both personally

The only time multiplayer games are MOST enjoyable for me at least is when I am playing with some friends, usually friends I know IRL.

There are a lot of aspects to a game that you just don't get to experience when in multiplayer versus singleplayer. I tend to play a single player game when I feel like really getting lost in something, sort of the same as when you watch a movie alone to experience it without outside interruption. Both types are really great in different ways. The two biggest games I'm looking forward to this year are BF3 and Skyrim, one for the multi player and the other for a good single player respectively.

For me I am somewhat biased to single player but I do enjoy both.

Single Player is preferred about 80-90% of the time because I love the immersion and the depth of the stories that one can find in the single player realm (especially the retro games such as Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Zelda series, Xenosaga series, Xenogears, .Hack series, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, TES Morrowind and Oblivion, The older Final Fantasy series (from FFX and earlier), Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, and 3 (haven't played 4 yet but I want to soooo badly, just don't have and can't afford a PS3 for it just yet), and many many like games (I could go on forever... Anyone ever remember a very old NES game called "Duck Tales"? ;p). Mostly play RPGs and I am an RPG nut.

As for multiplayer, I like FPS and that's about it honestly. Never was really into racing (except for burnout and NFS Underground 2 and most wanted due to the level of customization you had with your vehicles). I occasionally play WoW or Ragnarok Online (been a long time) but find myself getting very bored due to the lack of feeling ACTUAL progress.

Bottom line for me: Single Player wins hands down, but MP has it's fun and challenges and is fun occasionally. I grew up on the single player games, and been gaming since I was 3-4 years old (26 now) so single player is part of my core and I'll never stop loving single player, even if it means I gotta keep to the classics.
