GTS 450 or GTX 260 216? - Page 3

I would overclock the crap out of the GTS 450. Keep in mind that Nvidia constantly releases drivers to improve Fermi performance.

Frankly the Fermis at launch are not even close to the Fermis right now. There have been a lot of driver optimizations in most titles.

What resolution ? and feel free to fill out the pc section of your signature.

BTW, re: the benches that Ascii posted ... that graph shows that 260 to be 25% faster than the 450, not 11%, as it may look at first glance
It's actually possible

1920x1080. My minimum can suffer however sometimes but I think SLi in general has a slight bigger dip to minimum. Nice avatar, Carl Sagan was the man. It runs around 35-40 average when I have FRAPs on.

Yes, but the 450 was a later arrival. The Fermi drivers were already much improved by the time it was released, so I'd imagine that the benches at the time of it's launch are reasonably accurate vs. what they do with the newest drivers.

The benching comparison with both is posted on this thread already. The 260 is on average 25% faster across all benches and resolutions they tested. You care to explain what they've done to the supposed 'good' GTS450's that make them WAY MORE than 25% (since you're saying it will 'kill' a 260) faster than the GTX450 that TPU was using for their benchmarks? Did they put one out with a 40% overclock vs. reference w/o my ever noticing?

I've never even heard this claimed before, let alone proven. Not that I know everything, but I'd be quite surprised if a way to do this was discovered w/o my ever hearing about it
