Motherboard Question: Asus Maximus Formula and Crossfire

Thread Starter
Hey guys,
I have Asus maximus formula motherboard. it features intel x38 chipset and have 2 16x PCI-e.

I wanna ask how many GPU does it support.
I mean the motherboard say it supports Crossfire *Note* that it doesn't say CrossfireX.

Does it mean that it support maximum of 2 physical GPU?
Coz i can't Tri-Fire my GPU apparently.

Appreciate your response, thanks.

It's supports as many GPUs as you can fit in it's PCIe slots.

You can use up to two graphic cards at the same time..

But you could use up to 4 GPU's if you use two Dual GPU cards (like two HD6990 for example)

Or three GPU's if you use for example HD6970 + HD6990..

CHEERS..

Crossfire is the same thing as CrossfireX. Trifire will definitely work.
