[RS] Boycott Against Battlefield 3 Is Underway - Page 2

I probably would not have bought it anyway, but this nonsense about splitting the finished game into pieces and selling each piece separately has got to stop.

Also, it is just silly to give some players uber weapons and allow other players to go without. It makes for a lower quality game - play any game with an item shop and it becomes immediately clear that your customer base will quickly shrink to only those players that have access to the uber weapons. The plan might generate more pre-orders, but it will gimp sales post-release.

We're all gonna suck for the first few days until we get the hang of it, it will be new for everybody, so who really cares. This "boycott" is worthless and laughable.

So it's against some unwritten rule that a developer work on dlc when developing the original game. He must give us everything he has done related to the game when it's released? Nonsense.

Judge the game without the DLC and make your purchase decision based on that, or factor in the cost of the DLC into the original purchase decision. Easy.

Oh how the times are changing, we are being shafted.. and people love it.

I remember DLC used to be called expansion packs. They also used to be quite large and developed AFTER the game was released. Those were the days.

But remember, this same boycott has worked in the past with Battlefield games.

I don't really care about the weapons, but the maps do anger me. EA pulled this with Crysis 2, and fragmenting the community is never a good thing.

I have been waiting for this game for 6 years, upgraded my pc because of it and plan to get a new videocard; im not going to let something as petty as this stop me. On one hand I can understand these guys frustration but im pretty sure EA knows they can get away with this, its BF3 after all.

Day-0 DLC is pretty trashy especially when you can't purchase it afterwards.

The boycott worked perfectly.
BC1. Not 2.

Also in BC2 on Xbox the squad deathmatch mode was a pre-order exclusive for Gamestop or something for a whole month.

So pre-order it?

I'm sorry, I don't see why people are complaining.

Heaven forbid you pay a day / week / month before it's released? I've had mine pre-ordered since the day it was available for pre-order at my local GameStop.

And how is this tied to BFBC2? The "freebies" are trash. The "exclusive" unlocks are useless compared to the later on unlocked weapons.

People have turned into such babies. If you want to slight advantage pre-order it, it takes two seconds, stop complaining.

Also, it's what a $10 between the limited and regular version? For a game which if any previous Battlefield game has proven will suck hours out of your life... pay the extra $10 and just avoid Starbucks for a few days or something. Not rocket science.

I'm sure this post is going to get picked at, flamed and whatever so go right ahead. I have my BF3 pre-ordered w/ the Limited Edition, and as soon as the PWP shows up for the US version I'll walk right to my nearest GameStop and change my pre-order to that.
