New HP ZR24W- A small concern

Hi Folks,

I have had my HP ZR24w for a couple of weeks now, bought from MacMall. I have noticed a couple of things that concern me. One, the backlight is visibly uneven, especially in the corners. Having read extensively about the monitor before purchasing it, I know this to be common issue. Not sure if mine is better or worse than average. However, the thing that concerns me even more is that, just today I noticed what seemed like a dark scuff mark on the screen along the bottom-right edge. It's about a half-inch long, and a little thicker than human hair. Not dead pixels. I tried to clean it off with a lens cloth and mild detergent-water solution. But didn't have any success. It looks like its inside the front panel. I am wondering if this is something I should be concerned about. Haven't called MacMall or HP yet. Any advice?

I had something similar in my Apple display. I exchanged it because I don't think its possible to fix. Looked like someone's eyelash.

i haven't noticed any bleeding, but the screen uniformity sucks. especially noticeable on windows desktop; a little less in application windows. i purchased the monitor for photo-editing (Photoshop Lightroom, ViewNX, etc.) during photo editing work, i don't really notice the non-uniformity since a photo mostly only takes up the center of the screen.
