Questions About OCing with Smart Doctor

Hey wahts up guys im new to over clocking.... and had a few questions

posted in the other software forum... moved over here figured id get a better response

i have a asus nvidia engtx550 ti dc

with current settings vcore 1.125 engine 910 and mem 4101

card runs games like starcraft 2 and WoW on ultra no problem

however there are some areas in WoW where the fps will get down to like 30 FPS so i wanna see if a slight OC could help out with that

with current settings gpu temp never gets above 65*C

It looks like OCing the card is fairly simple with the three sliders provided

My only issue is I dont know the constraints to set them with...

from the factory
vcore 1.125 with a max of 1.187
engine 910 with a max of 1310
Memory 4104 with a max of 4704

so for example if i wanted to bump the engine up to 1200 what do i needa bump Memory and voltage up to?

thanks so much guys any help would be great

I personally don't think you're going to get much over 1000mhz if even that, set the voltage at the highest and then start pushing the sliders slowly - go in 10mhz increments and run a test such as 3dmark or heaven benchmark and watch for instability. Most get in the 975 range, but I'd doubt it will go much higher as it is already overclocked by 20% over factory.

Once you have done your core clock, start working on your memory, most memory doesn't overclock much and don't really expect much of a performance gain from it.

ive read the tweaking the voltage could be a bad thing... the slider for voltage gets red as you near the end do you really think i have to go all the way?

what happens if i adjust the core without adjustin the voltage... or only adjusting it marginally?
