any thoughts on the XArmor U9BL-S?

Thread Starter
I've had my DAS Silent for a few weeks now and I absolutely love it. Father's day is coming soon and I'm thinking about getting a mechanical keyboard for my dad to use in his office.
I also want to use this as a chance to give myself a reason to try another mechanical keyboard and I saw the U9BL-S, the MX Brown version of U9BL. Blue switches are not that great for double tapping and are a lot louder than Brown (bad for office environment maybe?) Does anyone have any inputs on XArmor? I was thinking about buying that then give my DAS Silent to my dad.

thanks!

They seem to break a lot.

Plus they have the most obnoxious Internet Marketing rep I've ever seen.

You will be disappointed with the xarmor for the simple fact that you already own a das.

The das build quality is much higher and it was evident the moment I returned my xarmor and got a das.

Das has it's issues as well, but those issues are things we nitpick at due to preferences, not the overall build quality. (Things such as glossy finish, or keycap printing methods)

The keycaps on the xarmor as well as the stabilizers feel really cheap to me. The larger keys wobbled a lot.

From my research and understanding filco, but those are more expensive and generally harder to find than the das.

Then there is ducky, leopald, topre, cherry.. all of them are good. They're just all more expensive generally.

I'm not the aficionado here though. If you're just looking to pick something up for cheaper, the xarmor is a good choice, but just know that build quality isn't as great as the das.

DAS seems to be the cheapest best option I have... one little nit pick I have with my DAS is that it's laser etched and I can feel the letters. I would get the blanks but I need to look at my keyboard when it comes with those symbols above the numbers and ect.

I have the Xarmor U9BL-S and It has been working flawlessly for me.
The only downside is that the backlighting gets resetted to 0 at every startup.

That's why the Filco Ninja is so badass. The keys are printed in the front!

only if this keyboard exists...

DAS quality, with dye sublimation, media keys, wrist rest, backlight, brown switches and under 150 bucks.

>.>

the filco looks great but it's too expensive, the printing in the front looks weird lol
