Why a 960 over a 2500k/2600k?
Ya with the mobo u cant go lnc. but for air or water it good. Most ppl dont lnc .
only thing in my book i would of did diffenty. would get 12 gb. have all 6 slots filled ( that is if its 6 slot. my gigabyte mobo was 4 slots x58 chip.)
6 cores are faster and x58 is still king in encodeing and folding. also 2600k cant run vertual servers with them(well ones my buddys uses) . X58 hail to the king

I chose a good chip which fit my mobo.
I should have done it the other way round, choosing a chip, then choosing the mobo based on that tongue.gif
But oh well, I don't really plan to overclock it massive amounts, until I get a better cooling system...

If I Oc'd it to 3.85GHz and I'm getting around 50*C at idle, is that normal? I'm getting 35-40*C at idle with stock clocking, so would it be worth the temp increase?

Why are you using dual channel RAM on a triple channel motherboard? You should have 3 or 6 sticks of RAM installed to fill all the slots of the same color or all the slots overall.
