Good cooler that will fit 1155 socket?

Hey guys I'm gonna break it down to you. I bought my friends Scythe Mugen version B from him. I have a CM690ii basic case, 2600k cpu, corsair vengence 8gb ram, and ASUS P8P67 EVO motherboard.

I am getting temps that spike with this cooler since it did not fit properly and I would like to get a different cooler. Can anyone make any recommendations?

Thanks guys. Should I bother re applying this HSF? I had a little difficulty fitting this heatsink on, I'd hate to do it all again to find my temps are spiking again. My 2600k temps show around 80c in bios, then in windows everest and speccy show 40c idling and anything somewhat intensive will spike it up from 40c-92c.

Before you ask about thermal paste, I added a regular sized rice grain, then I used a business card to spread it evenly throughout the CPU. Inside my case is a little hard to work with and I'd rather not bother with his mugen cooler again since it has compatability issues with my type of Asus mobo.

edit: does that noctua or thermalright cooler fit well with my Corsair ram in case I want to get more? With the Mugen the black dimm slot is blocked a bit.

A business card? Like a paper one? Why?

So I don't have to worry about the heatsink spreading the thermal paste around. I've done it on my i7 920 with the first version of the scythe mugen and had no problems.
