Should I go with air cooling or..

Thread Starter
All-in-one water cooling such as the Corsair H60 because I am about to go to my local Fry's and pick up a cooler. They currently have the CM 212 plus for $25 and H60 for $60. Both are at amazing prices but I can't decide between the two...

However, I'm also looking to overclock to 3.5ghz or maybe even 4ghz with my i7 920 stock.

So, which one would be better for overclocking overall?

Note : I only have crappy fans from the CM690 case, but I am going to invest in some quality ones after getting the cooler

Thanks guys
i7 920

I ran at 4ghz with a 212 plus a while ago and temps were fine. So i suggest the hyper 212.

212+ offers better price/performance. H60 will cool better, but isn't worth it in comparison, in my opinion. If you can get a 212+ for $25, I think that's a better investment.

What why not? I have water cooled my CPU and have my GPU's still on air. It's what my budget allowed. Significantly decreased the temps for both my CPU and both GPU's (as now they are free to hog all the cooler air).

OP I recommend the H60 as that isn't a bad price either IMO, besides water keeps the component cooler than air.

You will be lucky to get 4GHz stable with 212+ with acceptable temps.

Why not Corsair H60. It gives great temps if mounted right, and in push pull its amazing way better then 212.

I would say go with the Corsair H60 in this case with the I7 920, that deal that they have is pretty good.

Even the CM212+ is also a good deal. But you would need better fans or addiontional one for a bit of improvement.
