I own a R.A.T. 9 I love it but there are a few things to consider.
The meh~
-9 comes with 2 batteries you will need to swap every 5-6 hours of use (once a day for me under a normal day I use my PC for everything). Also it has a sleep mode that it wakes up instantly from and a deep sleep mode that takes almost 1 minute to wake up from.

-The sensor is crazy sensitive, even the smallest piece of hair can make it seem like it's not working properly. The Teflon pads are stuck on and the glue will pick up dust and hair around the edges of the pads that need to be picked off. I think this is the major cause of most peoples complaints, they just don't understand how sensitive it is.

-It's heavy compared to every other mouse but worth it if you are not suffering from atrophy.

The Yay
-The physical customization is un-paralleled, it is comfortable in every way possible. The thumb buttons can be moved outward, forward and backward.

-The huge mouse buttons can be clicked with ease from any point on the button it self.

-The sniper button is a godly addition (no idea what the guy saying it's not a FPS mouse is talking about).

-The functionality is 100% customizable so you can have any range of any combination of any 4 different DPI settings on 3 different profiles, plus the sniper button will cut any DPI setting by 0-100% (I use 75%).

I say if you can afford it go for it if you can't don't. It is really expensive, think you could get a decent motherboard or a sweet Phenom II CPU for the same price.
