CF Asus 6970 DirectcuII & MSI Lightning 6970

Thread Starter
Has anyone tried to crossfire an Asus 6970 Directcu II and a MSI Lightning 6970?

Want to go crossfire, but I just can't fit another Asus in the case :/
Was thinking the Lightning might be a good option, however don't know if its gonna work.

You can xfire whatever you like .. any brand name , aslong as its a 6950 or 6970 . They have to run at the same clocks too .

U might get one that clocks to 1ghz , but the other might top out at 960 if you know what i mean .

So run them both in a sweet spot .

So you don't have enough room for a second triple slot cooler?

What case do you have?

No reason it shouldn't work, they are the same core and memory size and all that. Only difference is the custom PCBs designed around overclocking.

Thanks for all the replies.
I got the corsair 650d case and a rampage 2 extreme mobo. I have to use the bottom pcie slot and a triple card would crash into the psu.
