And you know this how?

I remember reading that the 3D transistor "stuff" only adds 3% expense compared to 10% added for FDSOI ( Fully Depleted Silicon-On-Insulator).

I think that AMD is going to drop their processor lines and just make video cards. So IMHO bulldozer is a myth and will never be released.

Because that's how people work. I think 50% of the people looking for a BD will have the money to get an Intel CPU if it's faster, so that's a big hit right away. Then there's the fact that it'll look worse in comparisons and reviews than it would against SB. And people don't care if it's not designed to hold it's own against IB, they will still compare them and be disappointed when BD loses and completely disregard the price. There's also all the AMD loyal users who will, yet again, be disappointed that AMD doesn't have a counter for Intel's CPUs.

People dont realise what's going on. First of all, I hope you all know that processors are worked on for like 4-7 years.
Then, AMD will always have people who buy their processors, and AMD is getting more into OEM stuff, where the real money's at.
And axekiller, do you think they'll just give up on processors? Staying even one year behind intel is HARD, and IMHO they're doing a good job.

Intel fanboys comparing apples to oranges as usual isn't the way it works.

Only 3%?
For all we know they could be losing money by only adding 3% to cost. Intel has billions,so could care less if they lost a few,as long as they eventually crush their only competitor so they then have complete control over the market.

Don't get my hopes up..
Either way I doubt BD will be very competitive to sandybridge

Do you all know that BD was going to be the Phenom series, but AMD flop. They started all over again then Intel release the i7 series. So AMD made the Phenom II until they get BD finish. When AMD finish BD it will be like the 9 ver. of the BD chip.

It only adds 3%, whereas the current design adds 10%. So its cheaper, not 3% more expensive.

I guess that rules you out of the x8 bulldozer adopter category.
