No I know, I wasn't saying it would be on launch day, I was pointing out that you can buy the DLC immediately when everyone that preordered gets it.

Yes, there is bullet drop. Doesn't work the same as BC2 though, it's a much deeper system.
Demize99
No, no tracer darts. That's a bit too BC and not enough BF.

Here we go with all the QQ again. If you want the extra rounds, pre-order the game. If you're going to buy the game anyways, you might as well pre-order it and get all of the bells and whistles for free. Why are people complaining about EA giving away things for free to those customers who decide to pre-order.

I know I'll pre-order this as soon as it hits Steam. This is one of those games that I know I'll be playing either way.

Awww I like tracer darts, but I do agree that it doesn't fit how I picture BF3 being. I do hope Stinger turrets are back, and maybe a mobile heat seeking launcher for the Engineer?

i think engineers will have some sort of homing rocket for air threats, not high damage, jest and choppers could probably take 2-3 hits. enough to force them to retreat, without allowing you to kill them immediately. it will deal minimal damage to tanks and apcs, but destroys jeeps and such.

I think that would be a nice balance.

Is there a dev that isn't?

Oh really? See, I remember games that would have tons of expansion packs that cost more than DLC without adding nearly as much.

If you could unlock these items yourself no-one would have a problem. Instead, they've lame arse exclusive rubbish. Which is lame. Exclusivity sucks. If it was only the consoles that got these treats all of you would be up in arms. Learn how to know when someone won't affect you adversely and when it could. I.E. people allow this shadey and disgraceful practice (exclusives and prattish marketing) to continue, then we're going to see a lot more of this in games.

Imagine if you got a free, unique weapon with each different retailer and had to buy the game several times to get each? You KNOW some people are lame enough to buy that.

Again, in bold;

Giving away free stuff to preorders = cool

Making that stuff exclusive to preorders = lame

Only a few people = lame
Everyone (eventually) = cool.

No-one is complaining about that. See?

Devs don't set the prices or have much to do with marketing.

I would like some examples of these games you speak of, because I know of none. No DLC has added as much as the common expansion. And things like the updates to TF2 hardly count at all. Those are updates.

Whenever they do stuff like this the items in question are usually low to medium powered and really not worth it unless you are some kind of completion-ist nut. This is just like the different packs they did for Fallout 3 New Vegas, Tribal Pack, Caravan Pack, etc.

As long as they don't reserve anything serious and keep the content to little fun extras that have no real bearing on the game it doesn't bother me.

The retarded thing here of course is that all EA has to do is offer this DLC for sale for .99 cents and boom, now everyone is happy and they even get some more money out of it. Why don't they take this easy way out of the controversy?
