exclusive now doesnt mean it will always be exclusive either.

Remember G3 and m14 acog scopes. It took nearly a year before they released them. damn devs hoarded them to themselves.

I see nothing wrong with providing exclusive preorder content, but i can also guarantee EA will eventually release them for money, but perhaps much later.

If you cant afford a preorder. Starting today, if you save $3 each week up til release, you will have saved enough to preorder the day before release, and still get all the content.

exclusive preorder content is the norm anymore anyhow. Tons of games do it. Dawn of war 2 has provided skins and items for various retailers, transformers, Fallout new vegas, and dozens more. The huge thing is they are labeled exclusive, and that you wont be able to get them anywhere else, then several months later, you can.

What shouldnt be happening is people acting like children, unless you are one. Stomping your feet and throwing a fit isnt the way to get the content. The preorder will be available to everyone, and its far enough in advance to pick it up, if the extra few things really mean that much to you. Dont act like a child though, adults understand that sometimes they cant have everything, or they know what they have to do to get what they want. Perhaps throwing a fit is just easier.

A pre-order just means you put up the money for the full price before it's released. It's not like you pay extra for a pre-order or need to sacrifice your first born.

Now, if you're one of those people trying to pinch every penny and grab this on a Steam Sale or something similar to that effect a week or so after release, too freaking bad.
And to all others, I know a pre-order is the same price as the game. What I'm saying, and you're all too obtuse in your bias to notice is, is that I don't have the money to spare right now to buy it. Doesn't mean I won't sometime in the future, but basically I'm being excluded from being able to get the extra content because I don't have the money now.

That's the kind of fragmentation, exclusivity that I hate. I'm being punished because I can't afford it now.

I agree with what you're saying about the fragmentation. From day 1 there will be some players that have items that a lot of other players don't have and might not ever be able to have. But you don't have to preorder NOW. You can preorder a day before the game releases and still get all the content. If you put aside $4 every Friday (a middle school kid can do this...) starting this Friday you'll have $60 a bit before BF3 releases. If you can't do that then I don't really see how you can buy BF3 to begin with.

I'm unemployed, so where should I get this $3 a day? That's the point of my posting. I don't have an income, I can't afford the game, so no matter what I'm screwed.

the great thing about it is. You dont need to have the money right now. You need to have it by the day before release, which will give you time to start saving today. If you cant manage to save $60 by oct 28, i really dont think gaming should be a priority for you.

no offense, but why do the rest of us have to suffer because you dont have a job. That is not our fault, not EA's fault or Dice's fault(unless you happened to work for them.)

as an adult im sure you understand priorities, and that you will just have to skip the game until which time you can afford it, and you will miss out on a couple things. Possibly, EA could decide at a later date to provide them to everyone, just look at acog scopes for g3/m14. I never thought we would get them, but they added them.

$4 a week. How do you eat? Do you pay your own electricity? Do you pay for gas? Do you go out on weekends at all? It's pretty hard to believe that you don't do either of those three. I'm sorry if your situation is much worse than I'm making it to be, I don't mean to downplay you. Sacrifice one small luxury for another larger one. If you eat out even one day a month, that right there is your BF3 fund.

As far as it goes, no I'm not terribly bad off (but still unemployed). I'm playing this from the worst case scenario in hopes that I can make it clear that the idea of exclusive pre-order content is terrible, as not everybody can get that content because of circumstances beyond their control.

I hope I've made that clear, but it seems clear to me that I've instead helped you all think of ways to save money instead.

Alright, lets put it this way. I'm brain-dead, in a coma, can't pre-order or anything at all without life support. I wake up after BF3 is released and want to play, but now I can't get the exclusive content. Is it right for EA to punish me so?

I dont want to sound bad, but I have to agree with those who are also not having the "but I can't afford to pre-order right now" thing.

If saving four dollars a week is THAT much of a complete incapability, some re-prioritization may be in order.

Get as far away as you can from that keyboard and do something because asking others to bend their objectives or goals around your situation will get you literally nowhere in life except stuck somewhere that I'm quite sure you dont want to be in.

..............

I dont even..........

I'm sure the ex-coma patient would just be happy that they are no longer a living mushroom but I guess thats just my opinion ¬_¬.

A:"Congratulations! You're no longer in a coma!".

B:"OMG, SWEET! THERE ARE SO MUCH THINGS I WANT TO DO! SO MUCH THINGS I WANT TO SEE!"

A:"Unfortunately, BF3 came out with some unlocks and you cant get them as they were pre-order items."

B:"The machine...................hook me back up to the machine.........F MY LIFE!!!!!! DAMN IT ALL!!!! WHY ME!!?!?!?! WHY GOD, WHY!?!?!?!? YOU HEARTLESS SON OF A B****!!!!!!"

Really though, I cant see this argument holding any kind of weight with pretty much anyone.

If you're THAT hard done by that saving four dollars a week is too much, then this game is the LEAST of their worries and that any time spent playing BF3 would be time they need to spend getting the heck away from their keyboard and fixing themselves up.
