Multimonitors with the 68xx series WITHOUT eyefinity?

I cannot believe how hard this information has been to find. Right now I have two Nvidia 8xxx series cards I use for three LCDs that all connect by DVI. Each configured as its own screen (a window does not maximize across all three and games are only on the center screen). I need to free up a PCI-E x16 slot, so was looking at getting an AMD 6870.

I will NOT be doing eyefinity as all three monitors are currently different sizes and resolutions. What I need to know, and can't seem to find out, is if I can use the two DVI ports and a displayport to basically set up the same configuration as I have now. If I can, will I need an active or passive display port converter?

I can't think of a reason why it would be any different than it is now.

Another problem is I've never used an AMD/ATI card so I don't know what options are in their drivers

So, I don't actually know how it is now.
