the cheapest gaming laptop up to date! (and good quality too ;)

Thread Starter
hi just found a gaming laptop for a $969.99 from powernotebooks
it's a powerpro R 11:36 and has a GTX460M which is quite a pick for a laptop under $1000 and this laptop is completely MY TYPE of gaming laptops

however the quality is a bit questionable I tried to google for this laptop but didn't find anything, except for one thread discussing about it and it uses the same parts as clevo and sager!

if you were me would you go for it? is it a deal? I plan for a secondary system, a laptop for only traveling and a times when my little brother playes TF2 for HOURES!

waiting for your responses

No one is responding because they are all too busy buying it.

Specs and price look great, but no idea about the company or build quality. I don't know much about laptops but I'm going to take a wild guess and say: look at those heatpipes!!

thanks! guess I'm gonna have to gamble and own it! according to the website the laptop is based on MSI GT680 since they share the same spare parts! not that I'm willing to replace it with my sig rig anyway!

PS.....the AC adapter and battery are pretty cheap! a surprising advantage if you're used to HP and Dell parts prices!

I've just discovered that this laptop is actually a msi BAREBONE system! it means you can pick one with SandyBridge i7 and GTX560M for only $850! yeah unbelievable! unless you know that it does lack the OS, HDD, RAM, and wireless card!

good thing I didn't screwed by ordering PowerPro R, screw that! will be ordering my own BAREBONE MSI laptop from this seller!

Hey guys,

I would so much love to order this MSI GT683R barebone notebook, but I'm living in Canada and the shipment fees are raising up to 140 USD (using USPS Express Mail International, I've been told UPS is lame for international) , plus I guess I'd have to pay extra customs fees, which I have evaluated around 100+ CAD. That makes for an overall price of 1000+ CAD.
So I'd like to know if anyone knows a good canadian seller for barebones laptops ? I haven't been able to find one by myself :S.

Also Captain Razer, is the CPU really included in the link u posted? cause the description is not very clear on this point, and in the video the CPU socket looks empty... Moreover, I've been looking at some other MSI barebones reseller, and they don't include CPU for the same price (see link here : http://www.rkcomputer.net/rkcnoteboo...t_detail&p=338 ), so I'm kind of confused ...

I think that best option is to order from Power Notebooks or XoticPC. They offer very nice specs for low price.

hence the whole barebones part of the laptop. It comes with basicly nothing.
