Let me throw in some comments here.

Power Notebooks is a great reseller and a respected name among the smaller, custom laptop builders. Their rivals are xoticpc and malibal, among others. The laptop you've bought has great specs, but is a little larger (thicker) than the Clevo chassis that malibal and xoticpc use.

Additionally, if you want to be insane about it, you can buy a Clevo bare bone chassis and then get an engineering sample CPU off ebay for half the price of a retail. http://rjtech.com/ (chassis), then search ebay for an applicable processor. Grab an HDD and RAM off newegg or throw an SSD in if you have one laying around.

that barebone requires a cpu+memory+HDD and OS the total will be $713 (with used cpu) for a laptop with GT540M! a good deal but not great,

although the clevo X7200 chassis is the one grabbed my attention!
everything for $1729 and you can add a cheap nehalem desktop CPU that still outperform some of the mobile i5's and another GPU later! a great deal if you ask me
