So @ 1680 x 1050 what performance do you think i could expect with a 6850?
It is highly dependent on the title. Current games I've been playing:
-Crysis2 I can max out...with acceptable loss in smoothness...probably would need detail lowered for die-hards wanting absolute smoothness. My 6850 could max C2 @4000x1024 Eyefinity just fine.
-Portal2 can be maxed out just fine
-Dragon Age 2, with high-res textures, needs lowered AA and tweaking to be playable. IIRC I had to step down a detail level.
-Dragon Age: Origins, needs lowered AA and one step down in detail IIRC.
-Fallout New Vegas can be maxed out no problem.
-Fallout3 with 4096x4096 texture packs is unacceptable to me in FPS when maxed out in detail. My 6850 could handle 4000x1024 Eyefinity maxing this title
For a cheapo entry level card it is a great brick. When 7000s come out I might get a better card...I've thought about getting a 2nd 6850 but I need my money elsewhere. No matter WHAT you do, at ultra-widescreen Eyefinity resolutions you will not be able to max out every game currently out there. Such is life. Fortunately titles like Metro2033 are relatively uncommon today.
