Upgrading to SSD(Need Info)

Thread Starter
Hello..

Im now thinking off upgrading to SSD.
Looking to run Raid0 with 2 60Gb's disks

Are OCZ Agility 3 525MB/475MB 60gb disks good?

Im gonna use em on my Gigabyte UD9 as it has 2x sata3 slots.
Or is it a cheap sata3 raid0 card better?

Please give me some links and tips

From what I've heard Raiding SSDs aren't worth it because you loose trim.

And they're generally fast enough on their own.

I would say get one SSD then get either caviar blacks or F3s for a Raid 0 storage drive.

im running 2x 1tb WD black sata3 disk in raid0
and 2x samsung F1 750gb disk in raid0 on sata2

When i test Samsung hdds are have much faster read and 2x write speeds.

kinda weird when samsung is sata2 and wd is sata3, but samsung hdds have faster intern speeds so.

Not really, the Sata means nothing as no HDD can saturate even a Sata 2 port

true, but on ssd max R/W is what they get when you test them.
But on my samsung disks they have 175 R/W but they dont come close to that if u dont run em in raid0 setup.

How come ?

Those speeds are going to be usually for data all stored in the HD cache, it's rare that all your data would be in the cache already.
