OC I7 950(Help Needed)

Thread Starter
Hello, I need some help getting higher clock's

Intel I7 950 D0
Im running 4Ghz 20x200 now with all stock volts.
I am aiming for around 4.3-4.5 24/7 with as low volt as possible.

Cpu cooling :

Swiftech Apogee XT CPU Waterblock

Swiftech MCP655 / D5 Vario 12v DC Pump - with Speed Controller

Swiftech MCRES Micro Revision 2 reservoir

Swiftech MCR320-QP Quiet Power 3X120mm

6x Yate Loon 88cfm fans

Im buying a new Swiftech quad rad to have back on case. im adding Mobo to loop, but that dosent give out much heat.

So i will have 14x 88cfm fans to cool just mobo and cpu, so my temps will be fine

What is max Volt u can have on 950 ?

Thanks for help

I wouldn't do more than 1.5v on water.

above 1.4 for 24/7 use will degrade the chip over time, i would not go above 1.35 myself for 24/7 use but as long as you keep it under or at 1.4 you should be ok

Edit: Intel's max voltage rating suggested is 1.375 but under 1.4 is ok.

1.375v is the official voltage ceiling.

Check out Ark.Intel for more information.

Im running at 1.43 atm
Testing 21x200 4.2 now.. Working good so far.
Well my pc wont be on 24/7 i will turn it off when im away or sleeping

i will test 4.2 from 1.43 and down to see how low i can go, and when ive got that right.
I will try 4.4 and check how low i can go on volt as well.

You are crazy to suggest that much voltage for 24/7 use it does not matter that its on water or not, pushing that much voltage through the chip degrades it. water just helps the temps

my temps are 38-41 at 2% load
and 68-71 at 100% load

and that is with 1 360rad will be alot lower when i get quad rad to into loop

that is quite high for 4.2 you must have gotten a bad batch, my 930 was rock solid at 1.288 i had a great batch thoe, try going down to 1.34 or 1.35 and run a test to see what you get cause that is a little high for that clock
