hardware incompatibility issue/ need advice

I have this motherboard

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16813131601R

and this RAM

http://patriotmemory.com/products/de...&id=857&type=1

Obviously the ram and mobo don't match. I have an Intel core i5 760 and constantly have screen freezes where entire gui FREEZES SOLID. I tried taking out one of my gpus (2 gts 450 in sli) tried using 1 of both of them, freezes only when I play multiplayer games, I'll play single player for hours and only experience a freeze once every few times i play for 4-6+ hours. I ran the program to check for errors in the ram (i forget the name it's very typical) I tried everything. I'm convinced this RAM is the issue. So now I'm asking you guys what i should do from here?

Buy new ram, right?

You ran memtest 86 and didn't get any errors? Is the ram set too the right voltage?

Screen freezes can be sata controller related.

Run each stick of RAM individually with memtest86 if you don't get any errors then you should be fine.
If you do then down clock the speed to 1333 cas9, and leave it at 1.8v, then rerun memtest86, if you still get errors then it is time for some new RAM.

For some reason since this only happens on multilayer games, I doubt RAM is the culprit.
I think something else is at play here.

I would begin by doing a fresh install of windows, using the most current drivers for your mobo.

BTW please fill out your system info.

well i ran memtest 86 with both sticks with no errors. I'm unsure how to set it to cas 9? like set it to 9-9-9-24? @1.8v?

also, i think i made a breakthrough in this issue. Last night i had a lan party and someone suggested just taking a single dimm out and i played fine on multi for hours and hours. So now I'm positive the RAM has something to do with it. does that throw on any ligthbulbs for you guys?

thanks for all your replys by the way.
