Ya i'm defiently going to join the club. Kinda new here so I didn't get to it yet.

About the false floor, I was thinking about it, but I'm not that experienced with metalworking or anything like that. You know of any good threads which show how to do it?

Appreciate you posting that dusty front grill. Immediately reminded me to brush mine off.

Subb'ed though. I love modding. It's nice to see other peoples ideas as to how something ought to look.

Thanks man, I think you're my first sub. Except for me of course But yeah my front grills get so dusty really quick. I think I'm gonna do some pantyhose filters sometime soon. Maybe as a part of this mod, who knows?

Well if you can afford to set the $60 and shipping aside I whole heartedly recommend the 932 DEMCiFlex filter kit. It's VERY good and the front filter fits in under the grill very nicely. Consider how much Hosiery costs per pack, when figuring the costs. That stuff is pretty good but DEMCiFlex really is better and not much loss of airflow in the process of filtering as long as you stay on top of the maintenance. Even using a brush to knock off the dust occasionally helps keep the system cool.

Anyone that replied here is subb'ed. So I'm not the first and probably won't be the last.

I'll check them out... Ok I checked them out. It does seem like they would block the dust really well and be easy to clean off, but i'm not so sure about the look. I don't know if i like the look of filter magnets on the side of my case, but maybe it's better than dusty components.

This is really the only filter you will see if it's up on the desk or on a side table.

The full kit has a top filter which I highly recommend. I didn't get it and have to get in there and dust my system every few months. The kit won't stop dust completely, but it sure makes dusting the case more manageable. To me that's worth it's weight in gold.

I include a couple shots so you can see what I mean.

Painting right side panel

Hey everyone, this was pretty much the same as the left panel, only much easier seeing it was only one color to paint and not much taping required: only the edges and the vents. I opted to go with red on this one so the red would show through the cable management holes in the case, thought it would look cool.

Taping the panel

Priming the panel (sorry for the bad lighting)

Painting the panel (lighting again)

The next update will bring completed panels and future plans!

Finished side panels!

Hooray! The side panels are now all dry and painted, making me one happy camper. Overall, i'm pretty happy with how they came out, only a couple spots that left me a little disappointed, and only one place where a tiny bit of red over spray crept onto the black of the other side, but just barely and it hardly is noticeable. I'll probably just touch it up with a sharpie or paint pen or something.

Left panel finished and fan re-attached

Right panel all nice and red

Panels back on the case

Close-up

Here's a pic of the red accents through the cable management holes. How do you guys think they turned out? (Yes I know the inside is still grey and the cable management is currently crap )

I'm not sure when i'll be getting to the next step, but I definitively still want to try and de-rivet the whole thing to paint the inside. Everything will be black except for the psu bottom mount thing, hard drive metal brackets and the five and quarter brackets. I know I'm excited
