Where to test headphones...?

Thread Starter
I'm looking at purchasing either the AD700s or the A700s. I don't think there is a huge difference between the two... I just prefer not to purchase purple headphones... Anyway-- I'd like to try them out before I purchase (along with maybe some Sennheisers) what B&M store carries these?

Guitar Center is the best bet (at least in my neck of the woods), but it's hit or miss whether they let people demo headphones due to hygiene issues. The guys at my local store let me listen to any set of headphones I wanted to.

Between the AD700 and the A700, they sound different. The AD700 is an open headphone, so sound leaks out, sound leaks in, it has a wonderful soundstage, and bass is very lean and non powerful. The A700's are closed, so sound stays in and out respectively, not as good of a soundstage, far more powerful bass, and sound reverberates inside the plastic shell.

In my opinion, the AD700 trumps the A700. If you need isolation, maybe, but if you're a total basshead look into something like the Sony MDR-XB700.
