5970 overclock results

Thread Starter
I've been fiddling around with the settings and it seems to be all good. I think these are the stock 5870 clocks.

Afterburner settings:

Heaven result:

The hottest it got to was 81c with auto fan speed.
What do you guys think? Good results?

Also, do you guys know if I can close afterburner after choosing my settings and it will stay overclocked and act the same as if afterburner was still open?

Those results seem about right on extreme settings, you need to crank the fan and OC to 950/1250 and rerun. I cant remember exactly what max voltage the 5970 can take, I think it was 1.162v or thereabouts. As for AB, you will need to experiment with that, I don't close mine because I like to monitor my temps in my task bar.

I think the safe voltage limit is 1.3v or thereabouts.
