Really bad reveiew for the AT AD700's Kinda freaked - Page 3

There shouldn't be anything to worry about, I my self have only heard positive things about those cans until now, after reading that review. And if you do notice a problem with them right out of the box, perhaps after a good burn in period the problems will cease.

Classical, vocal, pretty much any bass light music with nice mids.

It's the first one I read that highlights the quality of the bass in the AD700, and every review I've read (and read a lot of them) points the bass in this headphone as a downside.

Regarding the youtube above (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gv224...layer_embedded) do not forget that the pair he is comparing to at the end cost 3x more. And we're talking about very high profile sound material, the AD700 is not meant to compete with that, just delivers brilliant gamming performance and good overall quality for the price tag.
he was rating them by class, not price

Is there anyone who has the AD700's that can tell me how they sound for music? That is kinda important to me too. I listen to mostly rock.

I made a post a while back about listening to Pink Floyd's Atom Heart Mother with AD700s. I preferred lightly modded JVC HA-RX700s over them. Anyway, with Pink Floyd you're going to miss Nick Mason's drumming and Roger Waters bass and since those bassy instruments are pretty much in every rock band, you're screwed.

I'm not a huge from of them. I'm more into studio monitors, for the bass.

But, they aren't a BAD choice. They are still very nice.

What would you recommend at that price point for music then? I am not opposed to sending them back if I don't like them

Audio Technicia M50s have alot more bass, and are generally better for music reproduction. I own AD700s as well. The only issue with the M50s is that they grip your head, as they are studio monitors.

Ad700s are more comfy, and are a litter bit better for footsteps and the like, in FPS games.

AD700s are basically a comfier version of M50s with no bass. IF you are into Rap and stuff, or just like bass, Ad700s are bad.
