It's rather puzzling to me that they would review a $90 pair of headphones and try to compare it to something like the AKG702s which have an MSRP of like $500. Even worse if they have used some of the $1000+ stuff like the HD800s, LCD2s, HE-500s, D7000s.
Maybe that happens in some cases, but those reviews didn't seem to fit your description. The complaint about bass is warranted; the AD700s really don't have much at all. More importantly, I think the fact that they don't even fit on his head is a pretty fair complaint. That said, for people who don't care about much bass and have larger heads, they're still great.

If you ever want to move up in a year or a few months, the AD900 headphones are even better.

So much more forward in the mids. The AD700 have the angled drivers in the ear cups. The AD900 do not.

I think you will be very happy with the AD700!

Cheers

I'm glad you liked them! Most people do, there will always be differing opinions especially with something like headphones where it can be somewhat subjective.

Keep in mind that they will sound even better after about 100 hours worth of burn in.

Yep gonna get em started now playing bass mechanik and let them go until I get home from work tomorrow. Hope that will give them long enough to burn in a little bit!
